Leaky Gut Syndrome Made Clear

More and more frequently, alternative health practitioners and proponents of colon cleanses are referencing a condition called “leaky gut syndrome”. This refers to the condition in which the lining of the gut wall is compromised and becomes permeable. Because of this, the contents of the gut — like toxins and undigested food — leak out into the rest of the body, causing a number of health challenges.

These health challenges include abdominal pain, heartburn, insomnia, bloating, anxiety, gluten intolerance, malnutrition, muscle cramps and pains, poor exercise tolerance, and food allergies. These issues are typically treated individually, with pills or different types of food, etc.

But these are not conditions unto themselves that should be treated individually; they are symptoms of leaky gut syndrome. If you deal with leaky gut syndrome, the other conditions correct themselves.

Many also assert that leaky gut syndrome is the cause — or is at least connected to — larger medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and multiple sclerosis, and auto-immune diseases like lupus. They also say that it’s connected to systemic yeast overgrowth, also known as candidiasis. A healthy body has a certain level of yeast present in the gut, but sometimes because of malnutrition, and malabsorption of good nutrients, the yeast overtakes the good bacteria, creating an imbalance. The yeast overgrowth can manifest in a number of ways, showing up as nail fungus, a white furry-coated tongue, skin rashes, gas, and a foggy head, to name a few.

How do you know if you have leaky gut syndrome?

If you experience any of the symptoms such as gas, bloating, food allergies, acid reflux, and heartburn, you probably suffer from leaky gut syndrome. It’s that simple. Many mainstream doctors do not provide testing for leaky gut syndrome. In fact, most of them don’t even acknowledge that it exists, even though research shows that millions of people suffer from it.

Why does it develop?

When you spend decades eating poorly, taking lots of antibiotics, and ingesting excessive levels of toxic substances such as alcohol, the digestive tract takes a hit. The lining of your intestines becomes damaged, and you lose the ability to produce the enzymes necessary to digest food and absorb nutrients. Then the bad bacteria in your gut take over.

The following symptoms are indicative of early stages of leaky gut syndrome:

• Intestinal Gas
• Bloating
• Constipation
• Depression
• Heartburn
• Diarrhea

Most people ignore these symptoms or treat them will a quick pill and move on, without giving it much thought.

Advanced Stage of Leaky Gut Syndrome

But as time goes on, the intestinal lining continues to break down, and the small gaps where particles were exiting in the early stages become larger gaps. This, of course, means that even larger particles of undigested food are leaked into the body rather than being eliminated through your bowels.

The symptoms get worse. Here are some signs of advanced leaky gut syndrome:

• Food Allergies
• Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
• Headaches and Migraines
• Eczema, Psoriasis, and Dermatitis
• Joint Pain
• Attention Disorders
• Early Stages of Autoimmune Disorders
• Digestive Issues

If you continue to leave this untreated, the system continues to break down and you develop long-term leaky gut syndrome symptoms:

• Systemic Candida, Ringworm, Nail Fungus, etc
• Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis
• Arthritis
• Multiple Sclerosis
• Severe Skin Conditions
• Crohn’s Disease
• Colitis
• Celiac’s Disease
• Ulcerative Colitis

As with any medical condition, the further along it progresses, the harder it is to heal it.

How Do You Heal It?

Not with supplements alone! Anyone who says that pills or supplements alone can heal you is wrong! If you continue to load your body with a poor diet, do you think one pill or supplement can change your health? Of course not! That’s still trying to put a band-aid on a behavioral, systemic problem.

Leaky gut syndrome comes about because of a poor lifestyle, and so it makes sense that part of restoring the body’s natural health is about making long-term changes to your lifestyle. Doing a cleanse such as the Total Wellness Cleanse will help get you back to health, and as long as you also make permanent changes to the foods you consume, you can return to a healthy state.

Some additional recommendations for dealing with leaky gut syndrome include to: avoid alcohol, eat plenty of fiber, take a probiotic — these can be found in powder form, or in some yogurts — and take glutamine, an amino acid that helps maintain intestinal metabolism.

As with any program to help you restore health, it’s important to start as soon as possible, so you don’t continue to harm your body to the point of having an irreversible condition.

Leaky Gut Cure is such a program that will help resolve the issue of Leaky Gut Syndrome.
